About Kyler

I'm Kyler Ishisaki — Coach Ky. I have over a decade of experience coaching athletes of every kind — from kindergarteners taking their first real steps in sport to professionals performing at the highest level — across a wide range of arenas, from professional sports leagues to the executive boardroom.

My work sits at the intersection of three things most training keeps separate: movement, recovery, and mental skills. Physical capacity gets you only so far. The athletes who last — who stay healthy, perform under pressure, and keep improving year after year — are the ones who've trained their minds as deliberately as their bodies. That intersection is exactly where most people fall off, and it's where I come in.

Human performance is a noisy space — endless opinions on what to do, when to do it, and what actually matters. A lot of my work is helping you cut through that noise and make the right calls at the right time. I provide the education, tools, and systems to make you as self-sufficient as you need to be — or, if you'd rather, I take those decisions off your plate entirely. Either way, the goal is the same: to become the best version of yourself. That's the athlete I help build.

Coaching Philosophy

I believe in measurable progress. Not vague effort or generic programs, but a plan built around you — where you are now, where you want to go, and the specific, trackable steps between the two. If we can't see it improving, we change the approach.

I also believe training the body without training the mind leaves most of the work undone. So I coach both: the physical side — movement, strength, and recovery — alongside the mental side of resilience, focus, and composure under pressure. The goal isn't just a better performance on a given day. It's an athlete who's harder to break.

Everyone looks to shortcut their progress; my goal isn't to shortcut it, but to provide a clear path to long-term success. Chasing that shortcut is the biggest mistake I see in the industry. There's no magic pill that will solve all your problems — instead, we need to find what's keeping you from succeeding (and often, you already know the answer). I'll help you navigate it, or collaborate with the right experts to work through it, so we solve the problem, not the symptom. After all, anything meaningful is on the other side of hard work and sacrifice.

Everything I do runs on five values:

  • Commitment — I hold myself, and the people I work with, accountable. Half-measures don't produce results.

  • Loyalty — When I take you on, I'm invested in your progress for the long haul, not the length of a single session.

  • Growth — I'm never done learning. The moment a coach stops improving, so do their athletes.

  • Compassion — Progress is personal. I meet people where they are and coach the person, not just the workout.

  • Adventure — The best training keeps you curious. I want the work to stretch you and to be worth showing up for.
